Search Warrant Served - Granger Street Apartment


On August 3rd, 2014, Officers with the Jennings Police Department Directed Patrol Unit, along with Detectives and Patrol officers, executed a search warrant at 807 Granger Street Apartments. The warrant signed by District Judge Steve Gunnell, was for the residence of Barry Cole- age/38. Officers executed the "no knock" warrant at the apartment at approximately 3am, once inside the residence officers secured the suspect Barry Cole and his girlfriend Sherill Rubin and began a search of the residence. Officers found in the living room of the residence a flashlight which was found to contain numerous rocks of suspected crack cocaine.

Interview of the suspect Cole revealed that he was recently released from prison in April of this year for Distribution of crack cocaine, he is currently on parole for the charges. The suspect Cole was transported and processed at the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail, no bond pending a parole hold, Rubin was released pending review of charges by the 31st Judicial District Attorney's Office.


The investigation into Coles activities began shortly after his release from prison and his move to the apartments on Granger Street, when the Jennings Police department began receiving calls to the anonymous tips line stating that the suspect Cole was selling Crack cocaine in the apartments. Chief Todd D'Albor commended officers on a prompt response to the tips resulting in a speedy arrest of the suspect Cole.
