Burglary Arrests Made

On Monday evening (9/3/12), Jennings Police received a call from a "Concerned Citizen" reporting suspicious activity on at a State Street residence, where several individuals were unloading guns, generators and a pressure washer from a vehicle.  Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle described at a local business.  The occupants were then interviewed by Detectives working a string of Burglaries occuring in the City over the past month and a half.  After garnering permission to search the State Street residence, Detectives recovered the generators, a pressure washer, numerous guns and other various other items that were confirmed to be stolen from several of the reported Burglaries.  Detectives further were able to determine that numerous items were pawned in the Lake Charles area and are working to recover those items.  Arrested were: Robert Earl Simpson, 31, Kansas Ave, Port Arthur, Tx; Davis D. Freeman, 24, Court St, Ville Platte; and Anthony R. Jones, 22, Granger St, Jennings.  All were booked into the Jennings City Jail on charges of Aggravated Burglary, Felon carrying illegal weapons and Simple Burglary.  Simpson was also charged with Burglary of a Religious Building and Theft of Goods.

The Jennings Police Department extends its gratitude to the "Concerned Citizens" for alerting Police to the suspicious activity.  It is because of this partnership with members of the community that allows for results such as this!
